Bidar: Bidar Utsav is our Utsav and everyone in the district should join hands
to make it a model festival in the state, said the District Collector Sri
Govinda Reddy. He presided over a pre-meeting called for all the associations
and office bearers of the district on Bidar Utsav at the District Collector's
office meeting hall on Wednesday. As Bidar Utsav is celebrated on January 7, 8
and 9, 2023, everyone in the district should express their views. He said that
there is one and a half months left for this and everyone should actively
participate to make this Utsav a grand success by giving their suggestions and
instructions.
DC Urged Bidar Citizens to decorate house, shop front during Bidar Utsav
On the days of Bidar Utsav, everyone in Bidar district should decorate their
houses with trinkets and their houses, shops and other places should be
decorated with lights to make it look like a festive atmosphere. A meeting of
the hotel owners has already been called and they have been asked to provide 60%
of the rooms for free to the tourists coming to Bidar district and they have
agreed to it. He said that this Utsav will also boost tourism in Bidar district.
District Superintendent of Police Sri Dekka Kishorababu, Additional District
Commissioner Sri Shivkumar Shilavant, Assistant Director of Kannada and Culture
Department Sri Sidrama Shinde, leaders and office bearers of various
organizations of the district participated in this program and gave their
valuable suggestions and instructions about Bidar Utsav. A marathon is held a
day before the Utsav. On the morning of the first day of the program, a
procession begins with various art troupes. Every evening from 6 pm
there will be programs for local artists followed by state artistes and national
level artists. In this festival, there are many events like Raitha Mela, Pashu
Mela, Book Fair, Music Mela, Women's Festival, Kite Festival, various sports and
cultural events. District Collector Sri Govinda Reddy said.
