Marathon Run & Patang Utsav on Bidar Utsav 2014




























Chief Minister Siddaramaiah will inaugurate Bidar Utsav

The Three-Day festival will have cultural programmes, adventure Sports, Events for Children, a National Level Mushayira, Patang Utsav, Art Camp, Photo Exhibition, Wrestling, Body Building among other events.
A Mini Marathon will be held from the Baridshahi Garden in the New City to the Fort in the old city on Saturday. A kite festival will be inaugurated at 7.30 a.m. on the Barud Khana premises in the fort.

Musical performances

On the main stage, Harshadeep Kaur will sing sufi and Hindi pop music. Sabari brothers from Jaipur will present a Qawali performance.
Teams of the south central cultural zone, Natyashree Nrutyalaya and Jeevaraj Shanta Nrutya Kendra will perform dances. Anjali Desai of Jamkhandi will present Bharata Natyam. Vijay Kumar Sonare will present a skit on communal harmony.
Apart from this, variety cultural programs will be held in the Rangmandir throughout the day.
Umashree, Minister of State for Kannada and Culture, will release a souvenir at the inaugural ceremony. Other representatives will be present.

Preparation of Bidar Utsav 2014

Art camp begins & Preparations of Bidar Utsav 2014
Artists from across the State are participating in a camp organised as part of Bidar Utsav here on Friday.
K. K Makali of Hampi; Badiger D. M. of Dharwad; Vishwanath H. M of Jamakhandi; Sunil Mathad of Chikkodi; Kandan G. of Mangalore; N.R. Naikar of Dharwad; Ashok U. of Bangalore, Hugar S.V. of Mangalore; and Bhimrao Badiger, A G Hiremath and A. K Joshi of Bidar will take part in the event.
Observation artists such as Anilraj, Sandeep Sajjan, Gurla Shruti, Akash, Santosh Vanikeri, Vishwas, Santosh Chikkanna, Sachin Manolkar, and Yogish Mathad too will be present.
The district administration is supplying materials to artists and paying them honorarium to draw paintings.
‘Promoting heritage’
The art works will be exhibited on the last day of the Bidar Utsav. N. Dharam Singh, MP, inaugurated the camp. Art works created in the camp would serve to promote our cultural heritage, he said.
Mr. Singh suggested that district administration officials set up an art gallery. Senior artist Soma Shetty drew a painting of a folk dancer.

Govt. Employees Defeated by Media Team in Cricket Match

A team of politicians defeated a team of government employees at a cricket match organised as part of Bidar Utsav here on Friday. A team led by Aravind Arali defeated the government employees team led by Deputy Commissioner P. C. Jaffer. Superintendent of Police C. H Sudheer Kumar Reddy scored 46 runs. Earlier the team of politicians defeated the media team.
