09/01/2009 Committee Member Meeting

Today at 5:30 PM Deputy Commissioner took meeting with Bidar Utsav Committee Members. In this meeting, District Incharge Minister, Aurad MLA, ZP Chairman, CMC Chairman and other prominet citizens of Bidar were present.

In this meeting, District Incharge Minister praised the development work done at Bidar Fort.

Deputy Commissioner stated that the star attraction of Bidar Utsav are well known Hindi Play back singers Mr. Sonu Nigam, Sunidhi Chouhan will perform and famous comedian Naveen Prabhakar(Paichan Kaun fame). are attraction of cultural events in Bidar Utsav.

Deputy Commissioner took review meeting with all committee members and took the progress of events done by each committee members.


For the first time in Bidar Utsav Rural Sports is introduced
In this event, Deputy Commissioner trying to involve all the rural populace to take part in events like
1. Bullock Cart Race
2. Bullock Show
3. Kabbaddi
4. Kho-Kho
5. Malakhambh
6. Atlas Stone(stone lifting)
7. Lathi Pradarshan

Above event will took place at taluk level and first three teams from each taluk will perform finals against each other at Bidar Fort.

Mushaira
From all over india well known Shayras are comming to perform in Mushaira at Bidar Fort. Over one lakh audience will enjoy.

Review of Bidar Utsav Work

District Incharge Minister Mr. Revu Naik Belamgi Visited the Bidar Fort along Deputy Commissioner, Superintendent of Police and with Committee to review the preparation work of Bidar Utsav 2009 Commencening on 27th Jan 2009.

It is said to have been built in 1423-24 A.D. by Qubil Sultani when Prince Muhammad was viceroy. The mosque is known so, as it has 16 pillars in the front. It is also called Zanana Masjid as it is situated near the Zanana enclosure.
It was an important masque as the Friday prayers and state function of a religious character were held here. It is about 90 meters long and 24 meter wide. There is a well beyond the southern wall of the mosque. Its interior is beautiful with provision for fresh air and light inside. The massive columns, arches and domes are attractive. It is considered as one of the largest mosque in India.
Jami Masjid and Kali Masjid are the other two important monuments from the architectural point of view

Monuments in Focus

It is the tomb of Khalil-Ullah who was the preceptor of Ahmad Shah. It is erected on elevated place. The building is octagonal in plan. There are traces of fine decorations on the walls of the building. This prominent building is altogether one of the excellent buildings constructed by the Bhamani’s. It is on the way to Ashtoor.

The three days festival will have many Cultural events,Sports events, Film festival, Food festival, Kite festival and also Health Mela. Many Artists of National and International fame have confirmed their performances in Bidar Utsav 2009 and the details of the events can be seen by clicking the respective events.
